About Us:
Bays Joinery is an award winning residential and commercial joinery company servicing the Tasman & Marlborough region and beyond. We have design studios in Nelson and Marlborough with a state-of-the-art factory at our Nelson site. We have a strong team of creative designers, project detailers and qualified joiners.
The Role:
The role is a full time Front of House position as well as Administration in our Nelson Design Studio. The main responsibilities are providing outstanding reception and customer service as first point of contact for our clients. Being part of the administration team includes processing basic accounts, H&S documentation, marketing & social media, tech support as well as assisting the operations team. The role is best suited for a personable, self-driven candidate with customer service experience who thrives in a high performing environment. A positive, ‘can do’ attitude will be an important attribute as you liaise with clients, suppliers and our Bays Joinery team.
Requirements:

Role Overview:
As an experienced Joinery CAD Detailer, you will be responsible for setting up jobs for our factory. Working alongside a dedicated team, your role will include:
Detailing joinery items in Cabinet Vision and ensuring all technical information is ready for smooth workflow in the factory.
Interpreting plans, incorporating site measurements, and producing precise, reliable technical drawings.
Maintaining clear communication with clients, suppliers, the joinery team, and the factory manager to support efficient project progress.
Requirements for Success:
Experience in drafting, cabinetmaking, or joinery, with a solid understanding of practical production requirements.
Proficiency in Cabinet Vision or familiarity with similar CAD/CAM software used for joinery detailing.
Confident communication skills to liaise smoothly with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
A commitment to best practices throughout the detailing and manufacturing process.
The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, construction methods, and cabinetry materials, ensuring accurate and efficient detailing.

Role Overview:
As a Junior Joinery CAD Detailer, you’ll be working alongside our experienced detailing team, learning the ropes. Your day-to-day will include:
Detailing joinery items using Cabinet Vision (don’t worry—training is provided!)
Preparing clear, precise drawings and incorporating site measurements
Teaming up with our factory crew to keep workflow smooth and efficient
Communicating with clients, suppliers, joinery teams, and the factory manager to help keep everything on track
It’s hands-on, fast-paced, and incredibly rewarding—perfect for someone who enjoys computer-based work, detail, problem-solving, precision, and learning in a supportive environment.
What You’ll Bring
Experience as a Junior Detailer or experience in Joinery/Cabinetmaking looking to make a move into the detailing side
Knowledge of Cabinet Vision or similar CAD/CAM software (bonus if you already know it!)
Strong computer capability, an interest to learn, communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude
